Yesterday we TRIED to go strawberry picking for playgroup! We all met at the church and carpooled since it was about 45 min- to an hour to get there. It was a nice little drive, but the directions they had on the website were wrong- they had added stop lights since they updated the directions- so after a while of driving-- we stopped to get directions from the little gas station. They helped us find the right road, but then the directions were wrong again and by this time we were in back woods country with no cell service- one of the ladies with us did have service so we used her cell phone to call the place-- um ya, they were picked out the day before so they were CLOSED!!! UGH! So, there was a little market down the way a couple more exits that sold the strawberries and things they grow at the Farm so we decided to at least go get some strawberries! It was a cute little market with a deli and homemade ice cream! I should have taken a pic! Right across the street was a Burger King and since we had been in the car forever and it was lunchtime, we decided to get some lunch and let the kids play on the playground for a min before we had to get back in the car! Damon was a little disappointed we didn't pick strawberries, but he had a good time and in the end we had strawberries for him to eat so it was all good!!
At the playground at Burger King!!
On my way home this is what my temp said! LOVE IT!! =)
At home with his bucket of strawberries!! His FAVORITE!!!
Jaymz has been doing "LightBulb" at school- it's an extra activity where they pick a subject they want to learn more about and then research it, send letters to people in the community about their topic asking for info, and then they put it all together to present it! He worked really hard on this! He stayed in for recess quite a bit to work on it, and stayed after school a few days to get it all done! The kids did a GREAT job! Jaymz was on how to keep the Flu away from you! He is now a PRO on the flu =)
Good Job Buddy!
I signed Damon up for Kindergarten yesterday- I CAN NOT believe by baby is going to kindergarten! I have dreamed about this day, but now that it is here I don't want it here! I have never been sad about my kids going to school until now! I think it might be harder for me than for him!
I bought him this "rest mat" at registration. They told me that in the afternoon the have rest time for 45 min. They don't have to sleep, but they have to rest quietly with their arms and legs on the mat! Oh boy, I can't imagine Damon RESTING!! So, we are going to practice at home I think!
He gets to go to the school on May 5 for a little kindergarten kick off mtg. The kids get to tour the classrooms and meet the teachers while the parents are in a meeting! He is SOOO excited to start school!!

I can't believe he is old enough to go to kindergarten, he will have lots of fun. Those strawberries look so good!
That pic with the strawberries is sooooo cute. Maybe we need to hook up Damon and Brinlyn. They are both the same age. LOL She might be taller than him though...hehehe Good job to jaymz on the project!!
Wow! Kindergarten already? Everytime anyone mentions that word my heart starts pounding. So in about a year when I am going through that, I will probably have a nervous breakdown.
Oh, he is too small for kinder! How cute is that! I bet it is hard to see your youngest go. But what the heck are you going to do with all your free time LOL....
Your kids are so cute. Strawberry picking sounds like so much fun! Is your kindergartener your baby? Kyson is in 1st grade (my baby) but I was so sad to see him go in Kindergarten. They grow up way too fast! :(
It sounds like the day started off pretty frustrating. I hate that, but at least you made the best of it!
you guys have such a fun place it sounds like where you live! And such smart kids. I'm looking forward to Chase starting kindergarten but we'll see next year when that time really comes.
