First Day Of School

The kids started school last Wednesday! We were all happy to start back! Damon is in 1st grade and was really excited! He has a few friends from his Kindergarten class in his class again this year! His teacher is from France and has a strong accent so he has had a little trouble understanding her. I think with a little bit of time he will be fine! He loves riding the bus with his friends! He also thinks he is pretty cool now that he doesn't have Jaymz on the bus with him!

Jaymz started 6th grade which is MIDDLE SCHOOL!! He was a little anxious about the first few days but they turned out just fine! He did have a little trouble getting his locker open the first day, and a parent that was supposed to be there "helping" yelled at him and told him to get the locker open! Another parent helper saw what was going on and went over and told her to leave and she would help him! On the 2nd day he came home VERY excited that he got his locker open everytime on his own!! Ü

Aubrey- well she is the cool 8th grader- (middle school only goes to 8th grade) She knew where everything was and basically knew everyone in her classes so it was great for her! She is excited that she has some really nice teachers! She took Choir this year- she debated back and forth between Art and Choir and decided to do Choir because most of her friends were in it. Well after 3 days she is trying to switch over to Art! She decided it wasn't exactly what she wanted and after she heard what they had to wear for concerts (tuxedos bow ties and cumberbun) she was OUT!!! haha Her Choir teacher said she had to try it for at least 4 weeks but she is going to go talk to the office- hopefully they will switch her so she isn't behind in Art!

I started a little Job teaching computer classes to Preschools around town. I work about 3 mornings a week and am done by noon. I think it will be nice to have something to do and get me out of the house!! It is pretty easy and working with kids is always fun! So, we'll see how it goes!

Aubreys Party

Aubrey had her birthday party on Friday night. She wanted to have a sleep over with a bunch of friends. She has been into planning her parties for the past couple of years and this year was no different. She got online and found some games that she thought sounded fun (my mom also gave her some ideas of games they played at girls camp) They ended up with these games:
The kissing game- Like pin the tail on the donkey but instead you are blindfolded and try to see who can get the closest to kissing a poster of your favorite star. They chose Twilight.. We accidentally got the wrong poster- they wanted Jacob but when we got home it had Edward, Jacob and Bella-- so that made it kind of funny- but they all tried to kiss Jacob! Ü

The shaving creme game- Get a shower cap and put shaving cream all over it- then your partner throws Cheese Puff Balls and you have to catch as many as you can!

Envelope game: Aubrey had envelopes hanging from the ceiling with a number in it- they were blindfolded and had to cut one down with scissors. (which was a little scary) Whatever number they got they got a prize with that same number on it.

The Drinking game- No not what you might think... They had 2 dice- for each number on the die there was a drink- Fanta, Vinegar, Water, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, and hot sauce. They rolled both dice and whatever numbers they rolled they had to drink the mixture (in a small mini cup) They thought it was the funnest thing-??

When they got done with all their games, they watched a movie (27 dresses) and stayed up way too late... (I heard them dancing to the Hannah Montanna movie at 3:30) but they had a TON of fun!! Ü
