Aubrey the Artist

Most of you already know this but Aubrey LOVES to draw! She is really good at it too! Is is WAY better than I am (which isn't saying much, but still!!) Any free time she has you can usually find her drawing. She has MANY binders and folders full of her drawings. Right now she is into cartoon characters. If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she will tell you an artist! We just changed Jaymz and her rooms so she could have the bigger one since she has so much stuff!! Between all her art supplies, card making kits, her easel and all the paper her room is FULL!! We thought it just made sense to switch their rooms but now I'm wondering if that was the best idea! She has art stuff everywhere! Here are some pics she did last night! I love the comments she has for each of us!

Where's Damon?

I had 2 big piles of laundry to fold today and before I got to it I heard Damon saying "Mom, Come find me!!" Since it was all dumped out of the basket I figured he was in there but he was staying really still! I thought that maybe he had fallen asleep he was so still and quiet. When I took my Jeans off his head I found he had his underwear on his head too!! I guess that is really disguising!! What a kid!! :)

President Hinkley

I told Damon today that the prophet of our church President Hinkley died last night and is now in heaven with his cute wife. He asked a few questions and then said well who will be our prophet? Then he said I know- DAD!! It was all I could do not to laugh! It was so cute though! He must think pretty highly of his dad!! He has always made sure that we pray for Pres. Hinkley- sometimes he makes us say prayers again if we forget him! He can pick him out of a picture and on occasion he has said look mom it's "Hinkey" if he sees an old man in the store!
He was a great man and we will miss seeing and hearing him speak to us!

Birthday Party

I came into the livingroom to find Damon sitting on a plastic spider-man tablecloth eating a lunchable. I stood there just looking at him and he looked up at me and said "Oh don't worry mom, I'm just having a birthday party." He paused and looked back at me and said "you can get me a present if you want!" It was pretty funny! I always try to figure out where he has come up with the things he says and does and I never can! He is too funny!

Push Ups

So James and Jaymz had a little bet going tonight- whoever lost in our game had to do push ups. Jaymz lost so he was showing off doing his push ups and Damon thought it looked really fun to try!! Not quite sure about Damons version-- Or Aubreys with 1 arm!! Check out those muscles!

Anheuser- Busch Clydesdales

We took the kids out to see the Clydesdale Horses at the Brewery which is down the road from our house. The kids thought it was really cool!! Damon wanted to take one home- I won't even let him have a dog so why would I let him have a horse?????

King Of The Hill!!

Lately when Jaymz goes out to wait for the bus in the morning he gets up on top of our big snow mound and waits. I guess so he can see the bus coming or something?? There is a little bend in the road just before our house so it is kind of hard to see it so maybe up there is better- I don't know but it is funny to see him up there in full gear with his backpack,snow pants,gloves,hat,and boots just waiting!! I'm sure some of the cars passing are wondering what he is doing as well!! :)
By the way- it was only 6 degrees this morning!!!

Swimming

I guess Damon is missing the Pool- I found him trying to swim in the DIRTY kitchen sink water!! I swear it's always something with him-- But what would we do without him????

snow snow snow

Another day of canceled school for the kids. It has been so nice the last week and BOOM more snow!! Alot of the snow was melted since we have had 60 degree weather for the last few days-- but not anymore! The kids were kind of excited though so they could get their sledding hill back up and running!! They helped today by shoveling the driveway (onto their sledding hill) so James told them he'd add an extra $10 to their allowance!!! They were happy about that!!!

My kids love when the missionaries come over! They always try to get them to play something crazy like horsey or something. Here are a couple of videos of them doing the skip it and playing ping pong on the TV

Movie Trap

Damon was being really quiet while I was cleaning and doing Laundry so I went to check on him and he had 2 pkgs of colored pencils on the floor making something right in front of the front door. When I asked him what he was doing he told me he was making a "Movie Trap" so that if any bad guys try to break in he will get them! I'm thinkin its a dang good thing I have him home all day to protect me!! :~)

American Idol

Im kinda excited for American Idol to start again! I have been listening to Jordin Sparks (the last American Idol Winner) Cd and I LOVE it! I think every song is good- and that's pretty unusual for me! Anyway If you haven't heard it you should!!

Popcorn and hot chocolate-- For Breakfast??

I came up from starting some laundry this morning and Damon had the hot Chocolate out and was opening up a pkg of popcorn. I said you need to eat breakfast- he said I am. I said that's not breakfast food- He said I know but I just want it. Where does he come up with these things?
It has been so nice out for the last couple of days! We have hit 60 degrees both days! The snow is slowly melting! The kids can actually play out back without sinking down so far in the snow that they are stuck!! There is no snow on our driveway or the walkway up to the front door!! YAY!! There is a big storm coming in on Monday though! It is such a pretty day I thought I'd share some pics!

Tonight the Missionaries from our church in our area came over and ate dinner and hung out with us. The kids love when they come over. Damon fell asleep- I guess it was a little cold to him by the way he fell asleep!! Aubrey and Jaymz talked Elder Wilkerson into playing Clue with them while they were waiting for dinner!!

Damon wanted cereal for lunch and I told him no- so he got the box out and read it to me- Looks like he is getting cereal for lunch today!!

Pine Wood Derby

Jaymz had the old pinewood derby tonight. James was never a scout so this was his first time making it! Last year we had my dad help J make it when we were in UT since he has ALOT of experience. They did a really good job with the car! They took 4th place so not too bad!! :)
