This year we had a few families over. James Smoked/ Barbecued a turkey out on the grill- it turned out AWESOME!! We also cooked one in the oven and did a ham. I made a couple of cheesecakes and pumpkin pies. Everyone who came over brought a few things with them. It turned out great! We had a ton of leftovers and everyone was happy!! I tried to be good and take a bunch of pictures.. her's what I got...

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone had a great day! We have so much to be thankful for and are glad we have a day to relax and be thankful!!

Jaymz b-day party

Since Jaymz birthday is on Thanksgiving this year, he is having his party tonight. I let him invite a few friends from church over. I have had a good time watching and listening to them... it is very different than when Aubreys friends are over! Ü

They have been happy playing football, the Wii, and listening to Michael Jackson's songs on youtube! Now they are playing Ghost in the Graveyard outside! Jaymz wanted a Chocolate Chip cookie cake so that made it really easy for me!

I can't believe it has been 11 years since I was in labor on Thanksgiving Day-- Wishing I could have some pie, or Turkey or SOMETHING!!!! My water broke before I got to eat anything so by the time I actually had him (12 hours later) I was STARVING!!!! I'll never forget that nurse eating a piece of pie right in front of me when she came in to check me! BUT- it was all worth it once he finally got here!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYMZ!!!!!

Here are a few pics of his little party tonight....

No school for a WEEK?

I'm not sure who thought it would be a great idea to have the kids home the week of Thanksgiving, but they are!! I guess it would be good if we were going somewhere. I'm going to try to get the kids to help me out with some cleaning today. Jaymz is having a little birthday party tomorrow with a few friends from church and on Thursday we are having about 7 families over for Thanksgiving! It should be fun! Hopefully I can get everything I need to get done without the kids making me crazy!! Ü

She's Official

Aubrey was pretty excited to get her warm ups last night at conditioning. She is doing great hanging in there with the other girls.. they ran 2 miles last night and she came in 5th- I was pretty impressed! Conditioning definitely is something new for her, and it is pretty hard, but she is doing great!! (the crunches killed her the first day) She doesn't have conditioning on Wednesdays so that will be a nice break. It also happens to be our Youth night at the church so she will be able to still go! She's happy about that!!

SOCCER

Congrats to Aubrey for making the Hoover High JV Soccer Team!!
Aubrey found out at school that the JV and Varsity Soccer Teams were open to 7-12 graders to try out so she decided to try out. She was a little nervous when she got there when she found out she was the only 7th grader trying out. Since she is so tall she totally fit in height wise! (she was taller than some seniors) She did so great! She totally hung in there with the older kids! On Thursday night they decided they had seen enough to make up the teams. She was SO excited to be playing on the JV team! (she had to ask me what JV meant...lol) She starts conditioning with the team on Monday. Games start in February so I'm sure there will be plenty to blog about! Ü
GO AUBREY!!!!

This is from New Hampshire:

Happy Birthday Damon!!

Yesterday was Damon's birthday~ I can't believe my baby is 6! He had a great day! He wanted BBQ Chicken, so James did what he does best and bbqed some chicken then We had a few friends from church over for cake and ice cream. Damon wanted strawberry shortcake for his cake. James decided he wanted to do the cake too, so he decorated and designed it! It turned out great!! We also made s'mores and roasted starbursts when it started to get dark.
On Saturday night we let Damon pick where he wanted to go to dinner and he chose Applebees. He thought it was cool that they sang to him and gave him a "free" ice cream sundae!

Happy Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween night! We went to our church for dinner and Trunk Or Treat and then we went back to our friends Mike and Jamie's house where they had a flat bed trailer decorated and playing spooky music. They pulled the kids in the back of the trailer all around their neighborhood! The kids had a blast and got TONS of candy! Aubrey invited 2 friends from school to hang out with us. When we got back to the Dankers house I realized that I had locked my keys in the car, so James got a ride back to our house and tried to break in.. now if you notice James costume, I'm sure it didn't look very good with him and a crowbar prying open the window! Luckily no one called the cops on him! haha He got in and got his keys so it all worked out- Thanks to the Dankers who let us hang out at their house for a while!! We were too late at that point to make s'mores in the fire pit, so we will have to do that sometime this week!
