Jaymz is playing flag football and absolutley LOVES it! This morning James was taking some vidoes of the game and happened to get Jaymz awesome interception! He is on the Cowboys team this season and his friend from church Ryan Childress is on his team, so that is fun for him too! :)

The kindergartners did a Nursery Rhyme Performance this morning! It was really cute. Each class did one nursery Rhyme. The kids were supposed to dress up as a nursery rhyme character. I couldn't think of anything that I really loved, so last night at 9:00 we decided to go with the spider... that sat down beside her! Damon was REALLY upset this morning that he had to ride the bus dressed as a spider.. he was afraid kids would make fun of him.. (he is the only kindergartner on his bus) he did fine though.. he said no one laughed at him, and he had Jaymz on the bus with him just in case :)

Today was Parents Day in PE at the elementary school. James went this morning to Jaymz class and I went this afternoon to Damons class. James forgot the camera so I only got pics of Damon. They have a really fun PE class! They have a rock climbing wall, stilts, juggling and for the older kids they can learn to ride a unicycle! Damon was so excited to show me everything he could do! :)
Well, we all are all better around here. Now the joys of making up all the work the kids missed! With Aubrey being in middle school hers is a lot worse. I have been taking her early to make up quizzes and tests. I think she is just about caught up now! When she heard that Damons teacher sent him home some stuff to do, but he didn't even have to return it, so was really wishing she was in Kindergarten again! :)
A couple of weeks ago Aubrey tried out for the musical HONK at school. She got the part of the Mother Swan. (It is the story of the ugly duckling) So she has been trying to memorize her parts and learn all of the songs! Luckily she doesn't come into the play until the second half so they weren't practicing her parts while she was sick!! They are having the parents be in charge of each child's costume so I am in the process of finding everything she needs! They want her in a black leotard, black tights, a black tutu, black opera length gloves, black flats, a black and silver boa, silver and black feathers in her hair, and a huge rhinestone choker and earrings. She hasn't been in dance since she was little so we need to find everything! Luckily it shouldn't be too hard to find, and since it is close to Halloween that should help too! :) She is so excited to be in this musical! She LOVES musicals and loves acting! Honk is on Oct 26 and 27th so Pics and more to come after the show!!
I am using this blog as a journal- since I am horrible otherwise at keeping one, so I thought that I should write about the lovely Swine Flu that we have!! **WARNING** this will be boring I'm sure....
The Swine Flu or (H1N1) has been going around Alabama like CRAZY!! So of course we were exposed to it! Aubrey started not feeling well on Sunday. I thought and HOPED that maybe it was just allergies. She had a cough with a little sore throat and a head ache, but No fever. We were having a little get together for Labor Day after church so I told Aubrey that maybe to be safe she should go up to my room and lay on my bed. Just to stay away from all the kids at our house. She didn't feel that well anyway, so she went upstairs. (we had about 80+ people over) OF COURSE-- as soon as everyone left I went to check on Aubrey and she was burning up! I took her temp and she was 104 degrees! I gave her some Tylenol and told her we'd go to the Dr in the morning.
The next morning she still had a fever so I took her to the Urgent Care since it was Labor Day and our Dr office was closed. We got there at 9:50- It didn't open until 10:00 so I thought we could sit in the parking lot and wait until they opened and hopefully we could be one of the 1st people in.. well I was wrong! When we got there the doors were already open and 10 people were ahead of us! They weren't taking anyone back until 10:00 but they were taking names since there were so many people waiting!! All the people in front of us (except 2) were school aged kids with the same symptoms! I could just feel the GERMS!! 2 hours later we were called back and they tested her and YES- she tested positive for the swine flu.
They prescribed her some cough medicine and Tamiflu and sent us on our way.
Later that afternoon, Damon and I went to the store to get the medicine and a few groceries that we needed. When we got home, he said "mom my throat hurts" Then he started coughing. He laid down for a little while so I went over and felt him and he was running a fever too! I checked it and he was at 103 degrees. So since it was Labor Day and the Urgent Care was closed by now I just figured I'd call our Dr in the morning and have him prescribe us more Tamiflu.
When I called the Dr the next morning, they wanted me to bring him in to check him and make sure that is what he had. So I took him in, and surprise, surprise he tested positive!! So, I got his prescription and went to fill it. 5 pharmacies later we finally found one that had the medicine in stock!!!
Yesterday (Thursday) Jaymz woke up not feeling well, so I had him stay home. By about 4:00 he had spiked a fever and had all the same symptoms! My Dr told me that the Tamiflu won't really work after you have been exposed to the Flu for more than 48 hours, so Jaymz has to just wait it out. He has been better than the other 2 though so hopefully he won't get it as bad! It seems like the fever lasts about 2-3 days and then it is gone.
Aubrey still has a nasty cough but she is feeling MUCH better! I will definitely be sending Her and Damon to school on Monday! Jaymz is not happy because his first football game is Sat. so he is going to have to miss it. but what can you do?
So far James and I are ok. I have not been feeling that great the last couple of days, but I think it is my RA. I am still trying to find some meds that will get that totally under control! Hopefully that will happen soon- I hate not feeling well1! Im on Methotrexate, Enbrel, and Celebrex right now and so far those aren't doing the trick!! The Methotrexate and Enbrel are antiviral meds so basically I have no immune system- so I'm praying I don't get sick!! :)
So, ever since the kids started school, when Damon gets home he asks if we got a phone call from his teacher (he thinks when he has to put his head down for 1 minute she calls us) so we always say What do you think? Then he tells us some excuse of why he had to take a time out. So yesterday I walked down to the bus stop to get him since Jaymz is gone to a 5th grade camp until Friday and as soon as he got off the bus he said Um mom, did you get a call today? I said, What do you think Damon? He said MOM- Satan had power over me today! I was laughing inside, but I said how? He said, well, I really wanted to clap my hands and I knew if I did I would get in trouble, so I decided to just do it REALLY soft. Just when my hands were about to touch Satan took over in my mind and made me clap really loud. Then my teacher made me put my head down for 1 min. I was DYING inside!! First of all- where does he come up with these things? and second, if that's all he did was clap one time loudly I am THRILLED!! No hitting, punching, pulling hair, rolling on the floor, or anything like that- I can deal with that!!! I think he is doing awesome for never really going to preschool and getting thrown into all day school!! He is such a funny kid! I love it! So- we had a little talk about not letting Satan have power over us!! :)
