SPRING BREAK

The kids are on Spring Break this week and the weather hasn't been the greatest so far. It has rained basically from Sunday to today (Tues) without much stopping. After a little cleaning, playing the Wii, making soda pop from Jaymz' soda maker, playing Restaurant for lunch and a bunch of arguing I decided it was time for the kids to go OUTSIDE!! I told them to get some umbrellas and put on their coats and go outside for a while! (it's only about 45 degrees today) I looked out the window to see what they were doing and I found them playing with a little Elmo boat in the puddles! Hopefully that will keep them busy for a while! Maybe I should have waited on mopping the floors and cleaning because it looks like they are going to bring in a MESS!!! Oh well right?

By the way- if you are wondering why the end of our driveway looks like it does- they are doing construction on our road and have it all tore up! We usually have a paved road- we aren't that country!! :)

Playdough and Rainy Days

It has been rainy here the past couple of days. It has been so dry that I guess the rain is a good thing! At least it isn't snow! :)
James was looking out the back window today and thought the rain hitting the little pond behind our house would make a good picture with the kids. So he got the kids to go outside with him so he could take a few pics. I think they turned out pretty cute!!












Aubrey and Damon decided to make a "creation" as Damon would say. Aubrey really wanted me to take pics of what they (she)made!

STUPID ARTHRITIS!!!

I just have to vent about my stupid arthritis! I HATE it!

When we lived in Vegas I had some blood work done and they said that I had the Rheumatiod Factor pretty high so I most likely had Rheumatiod Arthritis although I wasn't having any symptoms (thank goodness) so the Dr said when I had a "flare up" let him know and he would refer me to a Rheumatologist. I never had a problem really so I thought maybe they were wrong. As soon as we moved here I started having problems! My feet and my hands are the worst. Sometimes my knees will swell and hurt but not so much. I went to a Rheumatologist and he put me on some low dose meds and said hopefully whta will work. He told me I look GREAT there are no signs of crippling in my bones. Looking at my blood work he thought I'd be horrible but Im not so bad! So a few days ago I had a "flare up" in my hands and feet. I had an appointment with my Rheumatologist so see how the medicine was going- he looked at me and decided I needed to be on a different medicine and a little higher dose. He told me it was the same medicine they give to cancer patients on Chemotherapy just a lower dose and IF I notice my hair is falling out let him know and we will change medicine again. WHAT? Hair falling out? Are you kidding me? He said it isn't so common but there is the chance so just watch it!

It just sucks not being able to walk really well- my feet are swollen- I can barely get my flip flops on and my hands feel like I got in a fight with a concrete wall! UUGGHH!

I was so excited to be walking with my friends 3 days a week and getting that exercise! Hopefully this medicine will help me stay good so I can start that again! Exercise is really good to keep the joints moving so as soon as my feet get better I will get back into it!

Ok enough of the venting! My hands are killing so I better be done!!!
The weather has been in the mid 70's to mid 80's this whole week so that has been SO nice! Makes things a little bit happier when it is nice outside!!! :)

I don't know how it happened!!!

Damon was eating an ice cream drumstick- out of no where we hear him say um.... I don't know how this happened! How do you NOT know how that happened!! I hate it when that happens! :)

HOW WILL I EVER LOSE WEIGHT???

Not that I am complaining but I don't know how I am ever going to lose the 10-15 lbs that I want to when my husband cooks like he does!! We've decided that his problem is that EVERYTHING he makes has to be GOURMET- Last night we decided to BBQ hamburgers so how does he do it?



Not just a BBQ hamburger - he mixes onions in the meat, makes each patty HUGE, adds cheese and bacon- not to mention the corn and chips on the side!!!
I LOVE having a husband that can and will cook, but man- not good on the ol' diet!!!! :)

Night Time Noises

I wanted to take this video so that you could all hear the noises we have here at night. If you listen close you can hear ducks in the background and the loud noise that kind of sound like crickets are peepers (or peepas as they say here). They are a kind of tree frog. It is so different from Las Vegas! Who would have thought that you'd hear frogs at night!! :) We are having fun with it for sure!!

After school jaymz got mad at me I don't really even know why- and went to his room- when Aubrey and Damon went outside to play I went in to see if he wanted to go play and he was asleep on his bed. He must not be feeling well- he NEVER does that! If I didn't know better I might think he was a girl these days! DRAMA!!!!! :)


Today when the kids got home from school they went outside to play. I went out to get the mail and see what they were doing and I found Aubrey and Damon making mud pies! I think Damon ate his share of them!!! :) They had so much fun though! Aubrey is so good to play with Damon when she gets home! Whatever he wants to do she usually will do it with him! She is going to be (and already is) a GREAT babysitter!!!

Some of my friends that we go to church invited me to start walking on Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings at 9:00 with them. Today was our first day to do it and I am DEAD! I haven't done any real exercising for a while~ They do 4 miles and it's not slow! (keep in mind we are pushing kids in a stroller too!!!) When I got home my arthritis was killing me but hopefully it will work out that I can walk with them because I'd love to get in shape and maybe lose a few pounds!!! When I got home it was SO nice outside that I put some shorts and a t shirt on and went out in the back and laid out on the deck for about an hour while Damon played outside! I got a little sun so I am exited! I am SO white I can't stand it!!! I think I will try to do that every day this week and see if I can get some color!! It is supposed to be about 70 most of the week!! Damon kept pointing to all my freckles on my arms and telling me I was already brown! Maybe in a few weeks I can have some decent color!!!

Grandma and Grandpa

We had so much fun with my parents this last weekend! The weather was SO nice on Saturday! My dad, James, and the kids went for a walk in the woods behind our house and got lost for a few hours! When they got back they had TICKS all over them! Not good- They had a blast though! They saw a crane, a snake, deer remains and all kinds of other cool things! My mom and I hung out at the house and visited. It was mid 70's so that was a nice change!!

Damon taught grandma and grandpa how to play the Wii- the adults stayed up until about 1:00 AM every night (yes mom stayed up until 1:00 AM!!!!) playing bowling and tennis- we played guys against girls and I must say the girls kicked BUTT in bowling!!! (not so much in tennis) My mom and dad are definitely sore from playing so much Wii!!

We had a great time this weekend I kept forgetting to take pictures!!!

A Beatuiful Day!!!

Today was such a pretty day! It was Mid 50's the sun was out and it was SO nice! The kids were out of school today so they played outside ALL day! My car was in the shop so it was a good excuse to stay home!! While I cleaned, the kids played outside- I bet they were out there for about 5 or more hours! They even had a picnic for lunch because they didn't want to come in! That was GREAT with me! After playing volleyball, riding bikes and collecting rocks, they decided to go play in the woods. They didn't go too far, I could see them from my kitchen window (don't freak out mom) the snow has melted and made some big puddles back there so they got in their snow pants and boots so they wouldn't get all wet and they went to town! I got some cool pics of them~~

Tonight we had some friends over for dinner and games! James made Filipino food- the kids were so excited! James hasn't made it since we moved out here and they were craving it so bad! They LOVE Filipino food!

Spring Flowers

The kids ran in the house all excited from playing outside today saying they just KNEW it was spring! I asked how they knew and they made me go out and look- In the front of our house we have quite a few flowers that have popped out and some are starting to bloom! They were SO excited! Of course Jaymz had to inform me that the thermometer said it was 52 outside so that meant it was really spring too!
In Vegas there really isn't too much of a spring and not too many flowers blooming so I guess that's why it was so exciting for them!! It was funny to hear them all excited about flowers blooming!!

straight hair

Aubrey wanted her hair straight so she could show her friends how long it really is and since we haven't done it straight since we moved here so we did it. It takes a while to do so I don't like doing it all the time- but every once in a while it's ok! It looks really cute and she LOVES that she can flip it around! She was a little worried that the boys on the bus are going to tease her because her hair is different-and they probably will- you've gotta love elementary age boys!
It's raining today so she is going to have to be careful not to get it wet or it will go curly again! Fun Fun

Here are videos of Damon playing Boogie on the Wii (he calls it boogie woogie) he will have a dance off with anyone at anytime!! He LOVES it! He hasn't figured out that you don't really have to dance to get your guy to dance on the screen! So we'll let him keep dancing!!! :)
