Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! Our friends Denali, Tenniel and their 3 boys came in from Tennessee and our friends Shanti, Sharita and their 2 girls came over. The kids had a great time playing with each other! They were all over the place! It was a beautiful day! I think it was almost 70 degrees. The kids went outside and rolled down the hills and that kept them busy for quite a while why we were getting the food
ready!






James grilled/smoked a turkey on his BBQ grill and then we did one in the oven just in case! They both turned out really good!









The guys hung out in front of the TV most of the afternoon watching the games!



Since it was so nice outside we had the kids eat out on the deck! It worked out perfect!!



That evening Tenniel, Sharita and I headed out to see TWILIGHT!! It was so good! James didn't want to see it so I was happy to have some friends to go see it with-- and James was very thankful too! I'm going to get him to like it though- just watch! :)I'm excited for the next movie now!!

Happy Birthday Jaymz!!!

I can't believe today Jaymz is 10!!
Jaymz is such a good kid. He is very smart and thoughtful. He likes to analyze everything and find out how or why it works. He loves Soccer and Football. He is able to make friends very quickly and he can get along with anyone! Happy Birthday Jaymz!

Beat the Parents

One of the kids favorite games that we have is Beat The Parents. They have been asking for a while to play it, so last night we did. It is a trivia game. The kids ask the parents questions about kids stuff and the parents ask the kids about parents stuff. Well, needless to say-- the kids BEAT THE PARENTS last night!!



The kids are on a Fall Break this week. I'm sure they are thrilled, because I am having them help me get the house ready for Thanksgiving! We are having our friends Denali and Tenniel (from Tennessee) come over. Jaymz birthday is tomorrow and one of their boys birthday is tomorrow so we are going to do a little party for them! The kids are excited to have friends stay over!

Shopping- present- and just plain old WEIRD kids!

Damon is so witty sometimes it just kills me. Today we were out running errands and he got tired of it. He didn't want to go into the last store. He was whining in the car saying he wasn't going in. I said yes you are and don't tell me no! He looked at me with this sweet face and said ok- No thank you! :)

While in the store Damon spotted these "kids" carts! He was SO excited! I only needed a couple of things so I let him do the pushing. That made it worth it to go in!! I think I might be in trouble with that one- he is going to want to do it every time now!! That's what you get for being nice I guess.



He was so excited when we got home today to have a birthday package from Derek, Cindy, Bryce Olivia, and Jake!

Never leave home without it

We were getting ready to go to the store and I told Damon to go get ready to go. He came into my bathroom and said--
Damon: Mom, I HAVE to bring something with me.
Me: What is it?
Damon: digging in his pockets to find it- Here it is.
Me: No, you don't need to bring that dental floss. That's for your teeth. Go put it away!
Damon: Mom, you should NEVER leave home without it.
Me: why?
Damon: What if someone tried to push you off a bridge? You could die if you don't have it to save you!!
Me: Well then you're right! You'd better bring it!!

Good thing it is the heavy duty stuff!! Now we are off to the store!! :)

nothin much going on

I feel like I haven't posted anything in forever, but really it has only been a week. We haven't been up to much I guess. My RA has been bad the past few weeks so I haven't felt that great. I just got a new Rheumatologist and have an appointment on Dec 1st so I am hoping that I can get on some new meds or something so I can feel better. One of the side effects of the medicine I am on is your hair can fall out and since I have gone up one the doses, I have noticed alot of hair falling out. Even James is commenting on all the hair all over the house! (you know it's bad if he is noticing!!) :)

Last night James made homemade pizza- it was so good! We bought a new Wii game and just hung out and played games all night. It was fun!

Happy Birthday Damon

Yesterday was Damon's b-day. I can't believe my baby is 5 already! Man, Time flies!
We had a good day! Damon was so excited to get a bike! We haven't really had a spot for him to ride before now, so he was excited! Our friends Denali and Tenniel came up from Tennessee. We had a BBQ and let the kids play! We haven't seen them for about 5 or 6 years! Since we are just a couple of hours from TN it was fun to get together! The kids had a blast!

Better Late than never, right??

I really wanted to post this because the plan is to someday make this into a book and I want these pics in there!
This is our going away party in New Hampshire! We already miss our friends there! We were very lucky to make such great friends in the short 10 months that we lived there! It felt way longer than 10 months! I totally feel like I have been friends with these people forever! We had a great night with great food and great company! What more could you ask for? Thanks to everyone for coming and Rachel and Nate for hosting it!! We love you guys!

Fire and Ice and the Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Birmingham Zoo and then went to eat at Fire and Ice. It is a yummy bar and grill. It's kind of like a buffet- you go and get all the vegetables, Pasta, meat and sauces you want, then you take it to this big grill in the middle of the restaurant and they cook it for you. The kids thought it was cool! Aubrey LOVED that you could go back as many times as you want! I didn't get any pictures of the inside, but here is a pic of the sign- I know- boring!

Halloween

Damon decided he wanted to be a police officer like Jaymz for Halloween night. He had a police costume in our dress up stash so he switched it up a little!


The kids got SO much candy it is ridiculous!! They dumped it all over the floor and "sorted" it and then switched the candy they don't like with each other.
After trick or treating we made a fire in our little fire pit and roasted hot dogs and starbursts! (my favorite) I forgot to take pics of that- sorry
