Finger

So the last Day Jen, Curtis, Todd and the kids were here we were getting ready to go to the beach. (while my kids were in school) I went out to the Van to start loading our beach stuff in. When I got out there, one of the seats was down so I pulled the little lever thingy and started putting the seat up. All of a sudden my finger got squished in between the seats and it hurt real bad. I looked down and noticed my pinky fingernail (which was fake) was cracked across the nail bed. So I figured thats why it hurt so bad. Once I looked a little closer I noticed my finger was totally crooked and facing out- So I went into the house and told Todd I thought I had broken my finger. I moved it back in place so it wasn't crooked anymore. Todd and Curtis thought maybe it was dislocated. They thought they could pop it back into place so I let them both try, but no luck. Ya, probably not the smartest thing to do...I was in a lot of pain, and I knew I had to go to the Dr. I told them to go ahead and take my van and go to the beach- there was no reason for them to hang out and spend their last day in Florida at the Dr office waiting for me. I called James at work and I told him I needed him to come home and take me to the dr. After x rays, a trip to the Ortho, a CT scan and surgery this is what I have!

They ended up having to put pins in both the joints to hold them apart. I guess I crushed inbetween the joints and they were squished into each other, so they had to pull them apart and see if that will let it heal right.
It feels pretty good now- I still have some sharp pains off and on but the biggest problem now is bending it. I will be starting therapy to get it moving so once the pins are out I will be able to move it!
Crazy stuff! Im so glad my family went to the beach and had a great time while I was at the Dr because they would have missed out on this gem...


We had a great time with them here and can't wait for them to come back again!!

We had a spaghetti dinner/ silent auction for the scouts this past weekend and Aubrey decided to make a giant cupcake for auction! I think it turned out pretty cute! It was one that people were fighting over for sure!! Ü
