Tannehill Historical State Park

We hadn't been to Tannehill State Park so we decided to go check it out a couple of days ago. It was really pretty! We went into the Iron and Steel museum and then walked over to the Slave Cemetery. It was a mile hike up to the cemetery and James mom didn't really want to walk that far so I stayed back with her. It was nice just to sit and take a little break!! James and the boys and Grandpa went for it! (Aubrey was at girls camp) James was a little disappointed at the "cemetery". It was just some rocks scattered all over-- no names or dates or anything telling about the slaves. I guess that was how it was back then for them though. Damon made the whole 2 mile round trip hike! It was a nice HOT afternoon!!!

That would be interesting. Good thing the in-laws came so that you could see some things. I am just a little too content in staying home and just going to Walmart I guess. Next time, we will wear ourselves out! (o.k., maybe not.)
